They combine a tranquil, stunning country location (surrounded by wonderful natural scenery) with award winning beaches. Get away from it all (yes, really) in beautiful and VERY private natural surroundings yet still near enough to access the superb local beaches quickly and easily. Provides that very rare combination of stunning rural setting yet within easy reach of beaches, shops and restaurants. Will appeal to those who really appreciate the meaning of location. Unwind completely, surrounded by stunning countryside  yet only twelve minutes to the best beaches.

Describing these three properties as ‘apartments’ just doesn’t do them justice. Don’t think ‘apartment', instead, think .. ‘one of only three properties, all ground level and surrounded  by STUNNING country landscape within easy reach of the beaches’.

Extremely private setting. Surrounded by mature olive groves. Large pool. Lots of space for sunbathing (garden area or poolside terrace) and shaded front terrace when you prefer a  break from the sun. Access to the property is through a private gated entrance leading to parking area under the olive trees. Eight steps lead from parking area to the apartment and pool terrace.

Despite the beautiful, peaceful setting of these properties it's only twelve minutes to the beaches and even less to restaurants. Combines breathtaking location with easy access to one of Spain's most picturesque coastal resorts. The property is available as three separate apartments (two apartments sleep 4, one sleeps six) or as one combined property for two or three families holidaying together (sleeps fourteen in total).

Location

Situated in the hamlet of Lleus between the towns of Calpe and Benissa, this property is in a beautiful, private and exclusive area now designated  'zona verde' with building restricted.Ideal for those wanting peace & quiet and few crowds, yet near all amenities taking only a 12 minute drive on  country roads to the coastal towns of Calpe (or Moraira). Calpe is an old working fishing port with fabulous sandy beaches. It's famous rock 'Penon de Ifach'  and salt flats are now designated a national park with unique vegetation, flamingos and a migrant bird population. The town offers a wide variety of shops, excellent restaurants, plenty of daytime and night time entertainment and sporting facilities. The two large 'blue flag' beaches are well maintained, the  water is calm & shallow and suitable for families. Also cThee is Benissa with its old style buildings & narrow streets, the picturesque Jalon valley and  the mountain village of Pinos.

This property allows you to "have your cake AND eat it" by enabling a complete escape to gorgeous, peaceful country surrounds whilst still enabling you to easily and quickly access the best beaches, cafes, restaurants etc. Few properties offer this rare combination of spectacuar natural setting with easy access to beaches etc. two of the superb local beaches approximately twelve minutes drive.
 

Summary  of accommodation & Facilities 
(Although this page deals with only one of the three properties, this description below includes all three properties)

One, three bedroom/ two bathroom and two, two bedroom/ one bathroom apartments, available separately (or together, sleeps 14) Recently built property (Feb. 2010) on a 17000 square metre plot surrounded by olive trees at the foothills of the Sierra Bernia mountains by the coast. Comprises three fully self contained properites: One, three bedroom/ two bathroom (sleeps 6) Two, two bedroom/ one bathroom (sleeps 4 each).  Ideal for groups of friends or family who want to holiday together but also have their own private accommodation.  Access to the property is through a gated entrance leading to ample parking for several cars shaded under the olive trees. There is then a flight of 8 steps up to the apartments and the large pool area. All three self contained apartments have their own naya (veranda) and patio with a pathway to the pool area. The pool is 12 x 6 metre, each end is shallow (approx.1 metre) with access steps and the middle approx.1.80 metre. Surrounding the pool is a 200 sq.m terrace which is gated and fenced. Digital terrestrial, freeview satellite TV and wireless broadband included.  Separate laundry room with two washing machines available for guest's exclusive use. No smoking inside apartments. Pets considered when booking whole villa .

Apartment No. 1 & 2   ( two bedrooms, one bathroom, Sleeps four)

Large open plan lounge/dining & kitchen area, one double bedroom , one twin bedroom and bathroom. Each bedroom has one built-in double wardrobe, one chest of drawers, one chair, two bedside cabinets (double bedroom), one bedside cabinet (twin bedroom), 1 ceiling fan, linen and towels provided

(not beach/pool towels).The lounge has a three seater sofa and am armchair. Kitchenette has a small breakfast bar with two bar stools. Dining table seats four. There are a further 4 patio chairs. There is a portable barbecue on a private patio. Separate laundry room with two washing machines available for guest's exclusive use

Dining table is extendable to sit a maximum of 12 with 6 dining chairs (plus a further 6 patio chairs).  There is a permanent barbecue on a private patio.  Separate laundry room with two washing machines available for guest's exclusive use.

Activities

The property is at the base of the Sierra Bernia mountains, ideally suited for persons who enjoy walking, climbing and cycling, There are many opportunities for both the lazy and the adventurous walker, you can take the track from the villa up to the mountain village of Pinos and enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants and the panoramic view of the coast. Also you can walk to the top of the Penon de Ifach in Calpe. Worth taking a drive to are the vineyards and bodegas of the Jalon Valley where you will get some fantastic wine bargains. There are many surrounding towns within an hours drive, all well worth a visit - Moraira, Altea, Javea, Denia and Benissa are a must - as is the beautifully preserved medieval village of Guadalest in the mountains. Also visit the waterfalls of Bolullla, caves at Benidoleig and Canalobre. Les Basetes just outside Calpe provide water sports facilities - especially scuba diving, fishing, sailing, water skiing and wind surfing.

Entertainment

For the younger generation there are the theme parks nearby - the Disney style Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia Water Park and Mundomar Exotic Animal and Marine park. There are Safari Parks at Aitana and Vergel.

Places to Eat

Within five minutes from the villa is the highly regarded Casa del Maco restaurant which has an international menu. Calpe, Benissa and Moraira have a wealth of restaurants to satisfy tastes of all nationalities, the local sea-food at Calpe’s fishing port is extremely popular. Other nearby villages of Jalon and Pinos have many restaurants specializing in spanish and international dishes.

Golf

There are many excellent courses within an hours drive from the villa. Nearby are the 9 hole courses of Benissa Ifach, Alfas del Pi Alenda, Altea Don Cayo and Javea. Further afield is the 18 hole championship course at Real de Faula Benidorm designed by Nicklaus, the Ballesteros designed course at Oliva Nova and the Olazabal designed course at La Sella.

Wonderful holiday
We have recently returned from a wonderful holiday. The accommodation, swimming pool and surrounding area lived up to our expectations. The apartment was beautifully finished, spacious and well equipped. It was a joy to sit out on our veranda having our meals and equally to sit around the pool enjoying the views. The swimming pool was a perfect temperature and was crystal clear. We chose this property because it was away from the crowds but only a short distance from the local beaches and towns. This is the first time that we have ever wanted to  return to the same holiday apartment even though we have always been very fortunate in our choice of accommodation. We are certainly recommending this property to all family & friends."

Fantastic Stay in Beautiful Surroundings
I stayed here as a group of four adults and we were all blown away by The Olives. The location was perfect, peace and quiet with beautiful scenery, yet only a short drive from the town and beaches. The spacious apartment had everything we needed for a relaxing break; I loved breakfast and dinner on the the veranda. Everywhere was spotlessly clean

Fantastic family holiday
I don't normally feel moved to write a holiday review but in this case we had to register our complete satisfaction with The Olives and record our thanks to the owners for their part in facilitating an idyllic family holiday.We are a family of 5 (Mum, Dad & 3 young boys) who enjoyed the bigger Apartment 3 facing the pool area. It was such a pleasure to wake up each morning, open the 2 sets of double doors to the veranda and enjoy the outside space, the pool area immediately in front and the view of the surrounding hillsides. The apartment itself is generous with space, fitted out to a high standard and maintained in pristine condition - as is the rest of the property.The location of The Olives was ideal for us; it was great to retreat into the hills behind Calpe after a day/evening out in the busy town for beach/dinner. We would not hesitate to return here for another holiday to add to the fantastic memories of our first visit.

Beautiful Hideaway
Beautiful Hideaway, clean, lots of space, amazing view from the pool area, perfect location for travelling around the area and sightseeing; needs a car, because it´s about 2 km from the freeway We spend more than 3 weeks there and had a great time with the kids at the pool and the nearby sea. And don´t miss to have dinner at the Casa del Maco - it´s just 5 min. away...- great :-))

Vacances inoubliables
Nous avons passé 15 jours exceptionnels avec nos deux filles. La maison est entourée de champs d'oliviers , d'amandiers et de vignes . Le matin ,on se réveillait avec le chant des cigales. L'appartement est décoré avec goût et bien équipé, sa terrasse  couverte très agréable pour prendre ses repas et se détendre.Le jardin est magnifique et très bien entretenu , la piscine avec sa superbe vue est parfaite pour se rafraîchir et se relaxer sur les transats

Peaceful Location

Have just returned from a wonderful week at The Olives  Peaceful location but still just a short distance from shops and restaurants They are comfortably furnished with everything needed for self catering holiday. Our 2 sons aged 15 and 16 made use of wi-fi in apartment and we all enjoyed pool which was always very clean. The owners were very helpful and there was a huge range of DVDs if you fancy a night in.

Just wanted to say thank you for suggesting The Olives !!!  Just returned from a 2 week stay and it was one of the best holidays we have had. It really was superb, wonderful in every way and exactly what we wanted.  The location was perfect with 2 teenage girls, they enjoyed every minute. It is certainly somewhere we would return to without hesitation. Thank you once again for your help and recommendation.
